Hawaii Cruises

Hawaii is one of those locations you can cruise time and time again. Whether you enjoy Hawaii's beautiful weather, stunning sunsets or lush sea life there is always more to take in and do.

Hawaii is not all sun and sand; at high elevations the temperature can become quite cool, and allow for agriculture that you would not expect in the tropics.  There are micro-climates around every corner, and even rainforests.

On a Hawaiian cruise, there are typically 5 Hawaiian ports that may be visited:

Hawaii – the Big Island

Hilo

Home to macadamia-nut plantations, molten lava flows, an active volcano and world class botanical gardens.

Kona

Ever heard of Kona coffee? Guess where it comes from! Outrigger canoe adventures is one of the most popular shore excursions and are available year round in Kona.  You can also tour a volcano, or visit an ancient Hawaiian village.  There are fabulous beaches here if you know where to look.

Oahu

Honolulu

A great port to experience the classic allure of Hawaii.  Check out Diamond Head and the gorgeous beaches of Waikiki.  Take part in a traditional Polynesian Luau, visit pineapple plantations or just spend your days soaking up the sun. Waikiki abounds with nightlife and shops.  And, if you want a taste of history, don’t miss the Pearl Harbor Memorial.  Don’t like the city?  Take a car or excursion and get away from the hustle and bustle.

Maui

Lahaina

Known for it's pristine beaches and Kanaloa -.Humpback Whales  If you book a Hawaiian cruise between November & May multiple whale watching excursions are available.  Shop along Front Street, indulge your palate at one of the many wonderful restaurants, and take a peak at the world’s largest banyon tree.  Maui also is home to Haleakala, which rises high above the valley floor to a volcanic cone.  The tradition is to go up early in the morning and watch the sunrise, but if you do – take a sweater!  Want adventure?  Consider biking down the volcano, or a snorkel trip to Molokini.

Kauai

Nawiliwili

Known as the Garden Isle, Kauai is a lush tropical paradise. Grand canyons and miles of rivers await.

Travel Tips

Tip - Protect Yourself
Although you may find the shore excursions cheaper through local sources compared to the cruise lines excursions desks, you may end up stranded - or at the least taken advantage of. If you want to find alternative shore excursions give us a call before you leave!

Spotlight on Fuerte Amador
This week, we thought it would be fun to take a look at Fuerte Amador, a popular port just outside of Panama City. Fuerte Amador is a man-made peninsula, connecting four small islands to the mainland on the Pacific.
